Service Description
Term Class Description: Sculptures Students will design and construct a series of sculptures using **recycled materials**, combined with **builder’s foam, plaster, and wax**, to create a range of imaginative forms. Inspired by playful, character-based sculptures similar to the example shown, learners will focus on building strong structures, simplifying shapes, and developing personality through form, texture, and color. Throughout the term, students will: - Explore **construction techniques** using recycled objects as armatures - Learn how to safely apply and shape **builder’s foam, plaster, and wax** - Experiment with **surface treatment**, including carving, layering, and painting - Develop **character and expression** through exaggerated features and bold design - Understand basic sculptural concepts such as **balance, proportion, and stability** The class encourages creative risk-taking and problem-solving while reinforcing sustainable art practices. By the end of the term, each student will complete one or more finished sculptures that demonstrate thoughtful use of materials, craftsmanship, and individual artistic style. This course is suitable for a wide range of abilities and emphasizes process, creativity, and enjoyment alongside skill development. Katie Tucker 0421188771
